Arsenal Move to Tie Down Zubimendi with Fresh Terms and Bumper Deal

Martin Zubimendi looks set for a fresh Arsenal contract as the Gunners move to cement the Spanish midfielder's future at the Emirates.

Now, the club's hierarchy have made contact with their midfield linchpin to discuss extending his current deal—which runs until 2030—with a substantial pay rise attached.

Zubimendi's performances have clearly caught the attention of the Arsenal board. Eight appearances and 30 Premier League starts tell part of the story, though his impact runs far deeper. The defensive midfielder has chipped in with six goals and three assists across 44 appearances this term, proving himself far more than just a shield in front of the back four.

Arsenal's campaign has been built substantially on Zubimendi's bedrock presence. The Gunners sit nine points clear atop the Premier League table, have navigated their way to the Champions League quarter-finals, and featured in the Carabao Cup final—though that particular venture ended in defeat to Manchester City.
