West Ham Away Looms as Arsenal's Most Treacherous Hurdle, Warns Neville

Arsenal sit six points clear at the summit after dismantling Fulham 3-0 last weekend, but Gary Neville reckons there's one fixture on the horizon that could prove their undoing in the title race.

The Manchester United legend has singled out the Gunners' away day at London Stadium as the most dangerous banana skin remaining on their fixture list. With just three Premier League matches left to play—Burnley and Crystal Palace also to come—Neville sees the West Ham clash as the one most likely to catch Mikel Arteta's side out.

Speaking on his Sky Sports podcast, Neville explained: "I think the game Arsenal are most likely to drop points in is West Ham away. That's the game they should fear most. It's a horrible one because West Ham are fighting for their lives and need the points."

The complication, of course, is that Manchester City have two games in hand and could overtake Arsenal if they win both. Pep Guardiola's outfit face Everton on Monday night, with goal difference potentially playing a decisive role should the title race remain tight.

Neville did acknowledge Arsenal's impressive showing against Fulham, though he suggested there might be a nagging feeling they could have been even more ruthless. "I watched Arsenal last night and disappointed is the wrong word but Mikel Arteta might be thinking that they could have scored a couple more and whether they might regret that," he said.

"But he'll be happy with the win and he has to remind the players to take their chances and be clinical and ruthless. Those are the messages he will be giving I imagine."

The pundit believes the Gunners cannot afford to take their foot off the accelerator, particularly with City's games in hand looming large. "They can't sit back now in games, they need to keep going," Neville added.

Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool defender, was equally impressed by Arsenal's performance, describing them as "fantastic" and suggesting it was their best display in some time. "I think it's the best they've looked for a while, maybe since they beat Tottenham in the north London derby," Carragher observed.

The ex-Red acknowledged that Arsenal's superior goal difference—bolstered by their convincing win—could prove crucial. However, he also warned that if City overcome Everton, the title race might ultimately be decided by that metric alone.

"I think Man City will win that but it might come down to goal difference now so just winning might not be enough," Carragher said.
