Shearer Backs Arsenal to Edge Newcastle But Warns of Title Twist – Trophy Demands Mount

"I don't think both teams will win every game between now and the end of the season," Shearer said. "I'm convinced there will be a slip-up from someone, somewhere along the line."

"With how their season has gone and how brilliantly they have been for large parts of it, I'm not sure mentally they would be able to recover from that," Shearer warned. "Most clubs with the money they have spent would demand a trophy."

Newcastle, meanwhile, have struggled in recent weeks and boast an uninspiring record at the Emirates, meaning Arsenal ought to fancy their chances. Shearer expects exactly that outcome—though he admits doing so "unfortunately" for his former club.
