Trossard Set for Napoli Exit as Arsenal Plot €90m Williams Swoop

Arsenal appear ready to offload Leandro Trossard to Napoli, with the Belgian winger's exit potentially paving the way for a bold summer recruitment drive in the transfer market.

The 31-year-old is willing to leave the Emirates, according to reports, with Antonio Conte's Napoli showing the strongest interest. The Serie A side are prepared to offer €18m ($15.6m) for the former Brighton man, a proposal that appeals to Trossard himself, who is reportedly keen on the prospect of joining the Italian club.

Playing a starring role alongside Kevin de Bruyne holds obvious attraction for the winger, whose contract at Arsenal runs through summer 2027. Inter Milan have also registered their interest in the Belgian, though Napoli appear positioned as the frontrunners for his signature.

Trossard's potential departure comes as Arsenal plot an ambitious move for Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams. The 23-year-old Spanish international carries a €90m (£78m) release clause, with sporting director Andrea Berta personally championing the transfer to north London.

The Gunners are simultaneously exploring the sale of Gabriel Martinelli, with the Brazilian valued at £50m. Should both wingers depart, the funds generated would substantially bolster Arsenal's ability to finance a Williams move.

Mikel Arteta has previously held Trossard in high regard, describing him as "exceptional" and commending his "level of consistency" earlier this year. The winger has delivered five goals and five assists across 18 Premier League starts this season, whilst contributing one goal and three assists in six Champions League appearances.

Shifting both Martinelli and Trossard in a single window would represent an unconventional strategy, yet it remains feasible given Arsenal's ambitions. Eberechi Eze offers an alternative left-wing option, though he is better suited to attacking midfield duties. Nonetheless, his versatility provides Arteta with cover should the north London club pursue their Williams ambitions through a double exit in the coming months.
