Kane Backs Arsenal to Challenge PSG in Champions League Final Showdown

Harry Kane has weighed in on the Champions League final clash between Arsenal and PSG, offering his assessment of what promises to be a fascinating encounter in Budapest.

The Bayern Munich striker, who recently saw his side fall to PSG in the semi-finals by a 6-5 aggregate scoreline in a thrilling tie, feels both camps bring serious quality to the table. Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Saturday's showdown, Kane acknowledged the contrasting approaches both finalists will employ.

"It's two different styles playing against each other but I think it will be a really even test," Kane explained. "Both teams have good qualities and can be dangerous."

With Arsenal having just claimed the Premier League crown last week, they arrive in Budapest as genuine contenders. Kane, whose prolific Premier League goalscoring record speaks volumes about his pedigree, recognises the Gunners' trajectory this season.

"PSG are obviously reigning champions so of course they're a difficult team to beat but I think Arsenal have shown this year that they can be one of the best teams in Europe, for sure," he noted.

Yet Kane still views the French outfit as holding a slight edge, citing their status as defending champions. "I think PSG being the reigning champions obviously hold the right to maybe be slight favourites. But overall I think it will be two top teams going at it, it'll be an even match," he concluded.

Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has struck a bullish tone following last week's title triumph. The Gunners manager insists his squad possess the mettle to add European silverware to their domestic success.

"We have the opportunity to create new history in our club. I am convinced we are going to do it," Arteta declared.

The manager believes the confidence from winning the league should fuel their European ambitions. "We need this celebratory energy to flow and going against that, I think it will be a big mistake," he said, emphasising the importance of channelling their recent success.

Arteta has reminded his players of their elevated status. "I said to the boys that this shirt now represents something else. We are the champions, and that brings a lot of confidence and a different kind of presence and energy to it. But as well, another kind of responsibility as well."

The Arsenal chief views the challenge ahead as an opportunity to raise standards further. "My job now and everybody at the club is going to be lift those standards now and achieve much more, because I think we are capable of doing it."
