Arsenal Pulls Plug on Yildiz Deal, Eyes Alternative Targets

Arsenal have made their move on the transfer front, only to come away empty-handed. The Gunners' enquiry about Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz has been shut down decisively, with the Italian club making it abundantly clear the 21-year-old Turkish international is off-limits.

The north London club had identified left-wing reinforcement as a critical summer priority, particularly with uncertainty surrounding the futures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been scouring the market for well over a year to address this gap in their squad.

Juventus, however, was having none of it. The Serie A side demanded over €100m to even consider negotiations, having secured Yildiz's commitment to a fresh contract extension through 2030 just four months earlier. Arsenal's overtures were rebuffed without ceremony, forcing the club to explore alternative avenues.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the summer window could bring three or four arrivals at the Emirates, with attacking reinforcement forming part of a wider recruitment drive. "Winger is an absolute priority," Romano stated, though that priority now needs redirecting elsewhere.

Arsenal's hunt continues on multiple fronts. The club remains in pursuit of Leicester City's 16-year-old talent Jeremy Mona, with personal terms unlikely to prove problematic should a club-to-club agreement materialise. Athletic Club's Nico Williams has also emerged as a realistic target, with fresh encouragement suggesting the winger could be open to the switch.

Perhaps most intriguingly, Manchester United's Marcus Rashford could become an unexpected option as the Red Devils undertake their own summer overhaul. The Gunners' strategy appears focused on landing either established talent with proven Premier League pedigree or young prospects boasting considerable upside—players capable of either making immediate impact or generating significant revenue through future player trading.

The Yildiz rejection merely marks the opening skirmish in what promises to be a busy summer for Arteta's recruitment team.
