Arsenal and City Circle Bournemouth's Rising Star Kroupi in Summer Pursuit

The race for Bournemouth's breakout talent Eli Junior Kroupi is heating up, with multiple European heavyweights circling the precocious French striker ahead of summer 2026.
Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta have Arsenal firmly in the mix for the 19-year-old, who has caught the eye across the continent after an eye-catching campaign on the south coast. Manchester City have similarly registered their interest, while Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring developments closely, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
Kroupi's breakthrough season saw him rack up 13 goals across 35 appearances in all competitions for the Cherries. That productivity has naturally piqued the interest of the game's elite, though Bournemouth are digging in their heels—the club values the France Under-21 international at £80-100 million and harbour no desire to part with their emerging gem.
The suitors remain undeterred, however. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed the concrete interest from the Premier League's big guns. "Several, but several top clubs have started calling," he explained. "In the Premier League, the Premier League giants. I can tell you for sure Arsenal have called, Manchester City have called, and more clubs are interested."
PSG have moved beyond mere curiosity, establishing direct contact with Kroupi's representatives. Romano noted that the French outfit "took some information on the player" and maintain "a very good connection with his agents," suggesting a genuine attempt to muscle in on the deal.
The picture could become even more crowded should Andoni Iraola depart Bournemouth for Liverpool, with Romano hinting that the Merseyside club might enter the fray depending on how that situation unfolds.
Interestingly, Kroupi's emergence could have a knock-on effect elsewhere. PSG have harboured long-standing interest in Manchester City's Julian Alvarez, though the Argentine has consistently rebuffed their advances in favour of Barcelona. Should PSG secure Kroupi, that pursuit would almost certainly be shelved.
Iraola himself has spoken glowingly of Kroupi's development under his tutelage. In April, the Bournemouth boss reflected on the striker's evolution: "I think Junior has been a big challenge for me this season, one of the biggest challenges because we noticed straightaway that he has special things. His finishing is top for me."
The manager credited the teenager's willingness to graft on aspects of his game beyond goalscoring. "We had to work a lot with him and, especially, he has had to do a lot of work that he wasn't used to to win his minutes. He has become a much better player for me. I know he had a good start and scored goals but I try not to talk to him about goals because this is something which is natural and he will always have it. So, I have tried to make him focus on other parts and he has improved a lot."
With elite European clubs queuing up and Bournemouth holding firm on their valuation, all eyes will be on how this saga develops over the coming weeks.
