Bayern Munich Rule Out Havertz Swoop This Summer

Bayern Munich have firmly ruled out any move for Arsenal's Kai Havertz this summer, putting to bed speculation that had begun circulating about a potential transfer to the Bundesliga champions.

The German club's position comes via respected journalist Christian Falk, who has categorically stated that Havertz does not feature on Bayern's summer shopping list. According to Falk's reporting, he investigated the initial rumours and found no substance to them—no talks have taken place between the two clubs, nor have negotiations been held.

Havertz, 26, has been an Arsenal player since joining from Chelsea in 2023, with his current deal tying him to the north London side until summer 2028. The Germany international has become a cornerstone of Mikel Arteta's plans, accumulating 34 goals and 17 assists across 107 appearances in all competitions since his arrival.

This season, however, has proven problematic for the forward. Plagued by knee and muscle injuries, Havertz has managed just 20 outings in the 2025/26 campaign, scoring five times and laying on four assists. His struggles have inevitably raised questions about his immediate future.

Speculation about Havertz's prospects intensified when reports suggested Bayern might be in the market for him, particularly with Nicolas Jackson preparing to return to Chelsea following his loan spell at the Allianz Arena. One journalist had suggested Havertz could serve as depth cover for both Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane.

Arsenal themselves have been quietly considering their options regarding Havertz. According to BBC Sport's Arsenal correspondent Alex Howell, internal discussions about either extending his contract or gauging summer interest had been ongoing before the season commenced. Those conversations have since stalled, however, given both his injury troubles and the emergence of other striking targets—most notably Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez.

Falk's assessment suggests Havertz remains focused on his Arsenal future, though he acknowledged the forward would harbour ambitions of playing for Bayern at some stage. For now, though, any such move remains purely hypothetical.
