Welcome to another 2019 Mock Draft from Front Row Football. The NFL Scouting Combine has just concluded, and a new league year is almost upon us. Here are our updated projections for the First Round; we added some trades to make it interesting!
*denotes projected trade
1. Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
Kyler Murray to the Cardinals. Wow. Just a few weeks ago, this selection would have been absolutely absurd. Now, it is being widely accepted around the league as what will happen. The Cardinals course of action is completely unprecedented: selecting a QB, in the top 10, in back to back offseasons. A small part of me thinks that the Cardinals are bluffing, but for now it truly seems as if Kyler Murray will be the first player drafted in April. I’m personally hoping this does happen and I am also praying that Josh Rosen ends up as a Giant.
2. San Francisco 49ers: Nick Bosa, EDGE, Ohio State
This would be a dream scenario for the Niners. They land the best player in Draft while drafting second; it doesn’t get much better than that. The Niners have some solid young players on both sides of the ball, and Bosa would be an exciting player to throw into that mix. Bosa would be a big help to help improve the 49ers pass rush, which ranked tied for 22nd last year.
3. *Denver Broncos: Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
Mock Trade: DEN receives Pick 3 and 140
NYJ receives Pick 10, 41, 125, and 2020 DEN Round 3
The Denver Broncos trading up for a QB? Why not. Joe Flacco is 34 years old and the Broncos are clearly looking for a long-term answer at QB. Over the years, John Elway has not been able to stay put and select a Franchise Quarterback. Elway has to know if he wants one this year, he will likely have to trade up. Haskins is the best pure passer in this class, and by moving all the way up to the third pick the Broncos would steal Haskins away from the Giants, and potentially the Raiders.
