Running Back

Royce Freeman, RB, Denver Broncos

(Ben Liebenberg/NFL)

Royce Freeman is entering a wide-open backfield in Denver. The Broncos top-two leading rushers from 2017 are gone (CJ Anderson, Jamaal Charles), and Freeman has a huge opportunity to fill their roles. Freeman should end up as not only the starter, but also a feature back right away in Denver. The Broncos offense will be much improved with Case Keenum at the helm, and this team will win games with a balanced rushing/passing attack. Royce Freeman will lead this Broncos ground game, and he will be a key part to reviving Denver’s offense. Freeman will breakout in his rookie year.

Projected Stats: 1098 rushing yards, 12 TDs, 4.3 YPC

Runner Up: Ronald Jones II, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Disclaimer: I also expect Saquon Barkley to “break-out”, but he is expected to by many, so I left him off this list. Barkley should be a top-10 RB, if not better, in 2018 and beyond.
